KAZU: Crab Season Cut Short to Protect Whales

On April 8, 2019,  KAZU, published a story announcing the shortening of commercial crab season statewide.  The goal is to prevent whales and sea turtles from entanglement in the crab fishing gear.  The early closure is part of a legal settlement between the nonprofit Center for Biological Diversity and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
