The energy was electric at the Santa Cruz Warriors’ surfer-themed game, where the community came together to celebrate our coastal sanctuary. Our Chapter Director, Ginaia Kelly, had the honor of presenting the game ball, and throughout the evening, our Foundation’s mission to protect Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary was highlighted in front of a vibrant and engaged crowd. Fans tested their knowledge in a lively sanctuary trivia contest, and our Foundation received special shoutouts during the game.
The Warriors players hit the court in special edition surfers’ jerseys featuring our Foundation’s logo, bringing incredible visibility to our cause. Thanks to the generosity of game sponsor West Peak Sparkling Spirits, proceeds from the jersey auction went to our Foundation. After the game, the lucky winners received their signed, game-worn jerseys straight from the players.
Many of our sanctuary supporters joined in on the fun, dressed in Reyn Spooner special-edition Monterey Bay Aloha shirts and leis, cheering from a dedicated section with rally towels and special perks from the Warriors organization. This event showcased the power of community partnerships in raising awareness and vital funds to protect our shared marine resources. We are grateful to the Santa Cruz Warriors and West Peak Sparkling Spirits for helping us amplify our message and reach new audiences.
