FILM SCREENING & PANEL DISCUSSION • SANCTUARY EXPLORATION CENTER
On May 29, 2025, over 50 supporters, community leaders, and partners gathered at the Sanctuary Exploration Center for a film screening and panel discussion centered on our award-winning documentary, The Fight for Monterey Bay.
The film, narrated by Clint Eastwood, reminds us of the community effort that secured sanctuary protections three decades ago — and why our voice is needed again today in light of federal threats to funding and staffing.
The event featured a lively panel moderated by former KSBW News Anchor Dina Ruiz with speakers including Mayor Fred Keeley, Dan Haifley, filmmaker James Moore, and former MBNMS Superintendent and Sea Star honoree Bill Douros.
